Short Strand residents fortify their roofs preceeding and Orange parade. Short Strand, located in East Belfast is surrounded by Protestant neighborhoods and has endured many pipebombs, paint bombs and other incendiary devices thrown into their homes. Many windows are boarded making the homes look as if they were unoccupied.
