December 9, New Orleans. With demolition of 4 public housing projects by HUD about to begin, former St. Bernard residents and their supporters marched from the fenced-in project to Mayor Ray Nagin's house to protest the government's plan. Katina Pjyles, a former resident of St. Bernard, wants her home to be restored at the project. She lived there with her 5 children and 2 grandchildren. Residents still hold leases on the apartments.

The Demonstrations were organized by the Stop the Demolitions Coalition
